Hello dear English spoken friends !
Only for you here is the English version of the first part of Arnaud'trip, 2 weeks in Palawan. Unfortunately, I will not see Boroccay, the local Ibiza. But fortunately I pick the wildest, less crowed island in the Philippines.
The adventure starts even before leaving Cebu. Hanelle and myself meet at the airport Gena, crazy girl. We spend the first 4 days in Puerto Princessa, main town of Palawan in her beautiful house. We will enjoy the longest Underground river, island hopping, jungle and waterfalls.
After Hanelle departure I stay one more day with Gena. I join her at the cemetery for the 1st of November, Halloween. Great experience ! Philippians spend the day there eating drinking on the stones and talking about the departed relatives.
But then the 2/11 I leave Gena and all her girlfriend. I move to Roxas and Cocoloco Island. I spend 1.5 days there relaxing around my bungalows located on the beach. Welcome day after the 4 last crazy days. I have to get the right balance, Life wheel...
the 4/11, ready to go on the road again, I have a mission: reaching el Nido in the afternoon to meet Tirsa and Hanelle. After 1 hour boat, 4 hours bus and 2 hours motorcycle, accomplished mission ! These trips are always adventures and meetings...
El Nido is the Gateway to the Bacuit Archipelago, mix of Krabi and Madagascar Tsings. Imagine, great lagoons surrounded by natural cathedrals made of limestone. Imagine Sand snake of 1km in Crystal water.
There we met Devon from Portland. Charlie's Angels are back ! Before leaving El Nido I have Diner with Devon on the beach, feet in the water. Yeah !
Day after, I fly to Coron in a 14 seats plane, above great landscape.
Coron, famous for wreck diving. On the 24Th of September 1944, a Japanese float were attacked by the Americans. Now nature has taken back the place, and life is back again.
With my French diving diploma of 1987, I join very experienced divers (all more than 50 dives). I do good with my 3 dives ! After 2 days diving, this is time to relax at the hot spring and have more relax day. During this quiet days usually you meet the locals. I visited Bruno at his French restaurant, very nice talking, and it was nice to enjoy French food after 1 month travelling. I met Yvonne who is travelling for 6 years in Asia (original plan was only a year), There is Matias too, newly retired in Coron. And I have very nice time with Anthony and my Japanese Hiro.
With some of them you spend a nice moment and others you share mail address to keep in touch...
But Philippines is over now. Let's fly to Thailand to meet Tom, Claire-Lise, Rang, Hanelle, Tirsa Rozenn..

Salut Arnaud... moi aussi je suis ton périple et c'est vraiment formidable ce que tu vis.. C cool de voir autant de photos.. on t'imagine bien.. ça donne envie d'y faire un tour aussi!!
Mais comment fais-tu pour avoir autant d'amis dans des contrées aussi lointaines?
